Q2 PC shipments worth Rmb18 billion

China's desktop PC shipments were worth Rmb18 billion over the second quarter to June 30 this year. Shipments increased 2.0 percent in the second quarter over the first three months o the year to reach 3.556 million units according to Beijing-based IT research company Analysys International. Meanwhile desktop PC sales were up by 2.7 percent quarter-on-quarter to Rmb17.94 billion. Lenovo still tops the market leaderboard with its 35.4 share. In this survey, the second and third spots were also both reserved for Chinese manufacturers. Founder had a 14.1 percent share of the market in terms of shipments to secure second place, while Tongfang's 8.0 percent market share in the second quarter put the company in third place. Fourth and fifth places were taken up by the leading foreign competitors in the sector, Dell, with 7.5 percent slightly ahead of Hewlett-Packard with 5.2 percent.
